The Frost Report

Satirical 1960s TV show The Frost Report returned as a one-off special featuring Sir David Frost, Michael Palin, John Cleese, Ronnie Corbett, Tim Brooke-Taylor. Terry Jones, Barry Cryer, Sheila Steafel, David Nobbs, John Law, Graham Norden, and Julie Felix.

The BBC has confirmed. and will also appear on BBC Four's two-hour revival on Easter Monday, 24 March to mark the 40th anniversary of the show winning the rose of Montreux.

Frost said: ‘we are rounding up all the old gang but some of the original team, like Marty Feldman and Peter Cook, are no longer with us.’

Julie was resident singer on the popular TV show. She said: ‘They will probably have me singing Going to the Zoo!!’

It is perhaps just as well Cook will be absent. He famously described his one regret in life as saving Frost from drowning.

JULIE FELIX RETURNED TO OUR TV SCREENS IN NOVEMBER 2007
Julie appeared on the brand new music show called Space Pirates  to perform a rendition of her hit song Space Girl.

The programme that Julie contributed to was shown on 8th December 2007

The series may be repeated but unfortunately the BBC will be unable to notify us of future transmission dates.

Julie Felix to Meet Aled Jones - Face to Face!!

Julie has been invited to join Aled on his popular BBC Radio 2 Show GOOD MORNING SUNDAY

Sunday 24th February 2008

This programme is aired between 7am – 9am on Sundays and consists of music and Conversation of a spiritual nature

Julie in Belbroughton

On Sunday 14th October 2007 I had the pleasure of accompanying Julie to a private function that she had been asked to perform at. The location was the leafy green village of Belbroughton in Worcestershire. The venue was 17th century, originally built as a tithe barn and is one of the oldest buildings in the village. It was converted for use as a hall in 1915. Julie's visit here proves that it continues to be used by both the residents of the village and those from further afield.

As usual Julie's performance was well received, mesmerising many of the audience that had turned out to welcome the  special guest who was there to share an evening with them - an evening that will be remembered for a very long time.

Photographer John Tustain was on hand to capture images of the event.

Both Julie and I enjoyed the evening and would like to send a big thank you to both Alvynne and her team for the hospitality that was shown to us.

Trevor Tapscott

Asked how the event came about, the organiser, Alvynne - gave me the following statement.

"The idea arose from wanting to gather friends together for a social evening - but what could be the focus? Then I recalled an unforgettable evening many years ago when I saw Julie perform, so I thought why not invite her - she is such a spiritual person, would contribute good energies and hopefully enjoy herself too.

The atmosphere was wonderful - everyone said how inspiring and uplifting Julie's performance was. As a bonus, all profits made were donated to the local Hospice.

                  Alvynne Julie and Liz

I want to thank everyone who made it such a remarkable evening, and especially Julie herself. May the ripple effect of loving feelings help people to value each other whenever they remember this unique experience."

Steve Harley Death Valley Trek

Julie Felix’s good friend  and fellow MAG Ambassador Steve Harley is involved in an exciting and grueling project to raise awareness and funds for the anti-landmine crusade.

His trek across DEATH VALLEY takes place in March 2007. We are requesting donations to assist the venture. All donations will go straight to the MAG Death Valley sponsorship account. You will be making a lot of people very happy, no  matter what amount you donate.

This from Steve...

Hello, dear boy/girl/friend/acquaintance/business  associate/Family.

Please help me to help save a village.

As you will  have gleaned from the above formal introduction, I'm off to Death Valley soon  to raise awareness of the landmine problems still suffered in countless  villages of the far east.
I've been in the thick of it, in Cambodia a few  years ago (many of you helped my cause then) and I've seen it, close up, in  full body armour.

They need the landmines cleared.

Clearance will allow  them, hundreds of thousands of decent, innocent people, the dignity of simple  employment; they need power lines fixed, water wells repaired and much  training to stimulate their pitiful economies. They need agricultural land  made safe so farmers can grow crops again; survivors need their dignity and  children need schools; fishermen need to fish from the river banks again and  shepherds are desperate to tend their sheep in safe meadows.

They need the  landmines cleared.

I did it before, so I can do it again: that is, ask you  for your support (you must know I'd never beg.....!). I want to  raise all the funds I can to help this cause, and to do so I will attempt to  cycle 350 miles across the barren, inhospitable terrain of Death Valley on the  Nevada/California border. Listen, you can't even get a mobile phone signal  there; a week without contact with any of you - imagine. Just how inhospitable  can it get! No mobile - that's primitive, practically penal. Think of my  suffering.....and maybe then you'll support me.

I will ride, as in  Cambodia, on the back of a tandem, pilot-ed by my old friend Tom Dickinson.  Tom is a retired Detective Chief Super (Fraud Squad) and still as fit as a  flea, so I warn you, we're going to cover every mile our ageing extremities  can manage. Maybe we'll cover the lot!

Please take a look at the link  below, and consider supporting me on my great adventure, for the sake of  the poor hordes living in peril and poverty thanks to the millions of little,  invisible Khmer Rouge "leaving presents".

I take my responsibility as a  Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Ambassador seriously, as you knew I would. It's a  privilege and an honour.

My own website www.steveharley.com  includes a 2,000-word piece I wrote on the Cambodia trek for the Mail On  Sunday magazine, which will give you a feel of the actual problems faced in  much of south-east Asia.

THEY NEED THE LANDMINES CLEARED - urgently. Your donation will  go towards training local men and women (many themselves limbless from  landmine explosions) to become de-miners.
Please help me to help save a  village.

With the usual good thoughts, as  ever,

Steve

Julie's newest project is one close to her heart :  it's called Put Your Foot Down - Give Landmines the Boot.  Julie and MAG have asked artists, musicians, athletes, and actors to contribute their own shoes for auction on eBay early in 2006.

All proceeds will go to The Mines Advisory Group (MAG). For example, Vanessa Redgrave has donated her WADERS!  The Stone Roses have all signed a white Addidas shoe for auction.  We can't wait to see what Alice Cooper donates!   So far, there have been pledges from Ringo Starr, Barbara Bach, Nanci Griffith, Vanessa Redgrave, the Stone Roses, Mick Fleetwood, actor Patrick Stewart, Heather Mills-McCartney, Nanci Griffith, Chrissie Hynde, Brian May, Oasis, Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel, the Kaiser Chiefs, actress Joanna Lumley, Deborah Bonham, Eric Burden, Alice Cooper, Melvyn Bragg, George Best, Damon Albarn and many more.

Julie has been a longtime supporter of the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), having produced a sellout benefit concert for them in 2002, featuring Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, Kiki Dee, Steve Harley, Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings, and others.

MAG is doing such a tremendous job, and we know they'll appreciate your help in getting the word out about this massive celebrity effort. If you are unfamiliar with the way MAG works, here is just a brief example.  They act on a very basic, practical level (which is why singer Julie Felix is so supportive of them.   They go into the countries where mines have been left behind following military conflict.  They train the local people how to de-mine the areas (thus producing local paid work for many while clearing).  They de-mine pathways to water sources, paths to schools, children's back gardens, farmers' fields (YES!  These areas are actually selected to be mined as hard as it is to believe).  LET'S BOOT OUT THE LANDMINES!

Please join us in support of this urgent cause.   http://www.magclearsmines.org

Read on to see what Steve Harley feels about THE RAINBOW COLLECTION:

There are those among us who just have to play and sing; to whom there can be no question of quitting; to whom their work is not a job, but a calling. Julie Felix is one such musician.

What began for little Julie as simple home entertainment, as her father and his friends played Mariachi music into the small hours of the morning, has actually been this remarkable woman¹s profession for more than 40 years.

And it's a tough business, music. Only the good and the genuine last the course.

On this definitive collection of Julie's work, you'll find plenty of reasons why she has endured; you'll hear every facet of a complex and enigmatic performer: Julie the Gemini, a river flowing in two directions at one and the same time, fired with passion by Dylan's protests or sweetly intoning her own Goddess dedications; the self-composed spirituals and the traditional. But Julie, the mystical dreamer ('From my teachers and guides, from my fellow travellers on this journey toward healing'), is never far from reach. Just listen.

Listen to her reading of Leonard Cohen's joyous Hallelujah and Dylan's brooding Masters Of War which testify to her understanding of songs of great depth and mystery, those that either celebrate life itself or question its very meaning. Always, when Julie sings, an element of spirituality is obvious to the listener.

Julie has said, 'Music has always been an integral part of my life. Like breathing, it happens whether I am thinking about it or not.'

I first saw Julie perform in a folk club, an upstairs room of a rambling Edwardian pub in Colchester in the early 70s, at a time when I myself was a songwriter in embryo.

I first met her when we took part in a Guitars Against Landmines concert in 2002 and we have, since then, performed together on stage at one of her concerts; it brought me great joy to share a stage with that constantly beaming smile, with a performer of such commitment.

Julie cares passionately about this world and its future. And she cares deeply about music and its healing powers.

In here, in this fine and enchanting collection, you'll feel it all: the passion, the spirit and above all else, the love this remarkable woman generates through her beautiful voice.

Julie's is a voice that should be heard. Just listen.
